SABIS® is a global education network that has an active presence in 20 countries on five continents. The English Teacher is responsible for enabling the success of students and helping them reach their academic potential through the implementation of the SABIS® curriculum and philosophy and through the consistent use of the SABIS® teaching methodology.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching using the provided lesson plans (or developing plans based on pacing charts) to teach using the SABIS® point system.
Marking exams related to the subject matter in accordance with the schedule and materials provided by the department.
Discussing disciplinary and student performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller (AQC) and Head of Department (HOD) as needed.
Implementing the SABIS® point system to ensure an environment conducive to learning in the classroom.
Providing support by invigilating exams in an adequate and properly managed environment.
Providing support for academically low-performing students to help improve their motivation and performance.
Developing and following external exam preparations by reviewing past papers as planned in the structured revision schedule.
Assisting in school duties such as testing children, substituting for absent teachers, organizing lunch and bus routines, and other administrative tasks delegated by management.
Preparing and participating in activity plans for student life events (art, open house, physical education, etc.) in coordination with the Student Life Coordinator.
Attending training sessions to enhance understanding of the SABIS® system and improve performance.
Performing other related tasks or projects as delegated by the school management.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in English or a related subject matter and/or equivalent.
Certification: PGCE Certification or an MA in Education is mandatory.
Language Proficiency: English Proficient or Native English Speaker (depending on the subject assignment).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office components.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
