Job Description
Role Overview
The role holder facilitates the smooth operations of the KEPSS RTGS, SWIFT, and the regional payment systems interfaced to KEPSS. This includes monitoring the customer helpdesk to ensure high-quality service and maintaining the availability of efficient, reliable, and secure payment systems that support the functioning of the economy.
Key Responsibilities
Technical and Operational Responsibilities
System Administration: Administer payment systems (KEPSS, SWIFT, etc.) by performing Start of Day (SOD) and End of Day (EOD) processes.
Monitoring: Ensure payment systems are running and actively monitored; view incoming messages and requests.
User Management: Add and manage payment system participants and users, including administration and training.
System Maintenance: Manage payment system window extensions and oversee the issuance and renewal of security tokens and certificates.
Support: Receive and respond to queries from participants, update Treasury contact lists, and administer the Payments System email.
Internal Coordination: Liaise with other departments to manage requests timely and perform administrative tasks like processing invoices for third-party providers.
Risk & Performance: Continuously monitor performance, coordinate system health checks, and prepare periodic risk status reports.
Strategic Participation: Support the implementation of Bank projects, strategic activities, policy reviews, and contribute to the National Payment System (NPS) annual budget.
Other Responsibilities
Participate in stakeholder committees and meetings.
Support the implementation of RTGS and other payment system-related projects.
Induct new staff members and users to payment systems.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Banking, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
Professional Certification: Relevant professional qualifications and memberships are an added advantage.
Experience: At least three (3) years of experience in Payments and Banking operations or a related area.
