The Senior Manager, Retail Mobile Financial Services, reporting to the Head of Retail Digital Solutions, is the strategic lead for digital lending targeting Retail Customers. This role involves the envisioning, design, implementation, and commercialization of re-imagined digital-first lending products and processes. The successful candidate will own the performance and outcomes of Retail lending solutions and will be responsible for achieving Product-Market-Risk fit, acting as a change driver by defining, structuring, and experimenting with new products in the market.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Management: Lead the strategic development of digital lending solutions for Retail Customers, ensuring an Omni-channel experience for business growth in assets, liability, and Non-Funded Income.
Ecosystem Approach: Work with cross-functional teams to identify and target industry segments, roll out specialization plans, and develop MIS and capabilities for the Retail strategy.
Agile Development: Maintain a product backlog, develop user stories, participate in scrum ceremonies, product testing, and end-user training.
Partnerships: Steward conversation with potential partners, factoring in new business models such as SAAS, BAAS, and PAAS, and the adoption of emerging technologies.
Market Analysis: Adopt human-centered design thinking to improve customer experience and drive matrix/virtual teams to manage issues and bottlenecks.
Performance Tracking: Derive insights from research and findings to develop product propositions and achieve business growth through formulated sales strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic: University Degree (Second Upper or Equivalent) in a Business-related field (Management, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or Administration). A Master’s degree and professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
Professional: Certifications in Project Management/Technology and experience in Agile and/or DevOps is desirable.
Work Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years of managerial experience in commercial/consumer financial services.
Industry Expertise: Demonstrated success in balance sheet growth and customer acquisition in Fintech, Startup, Telco, or FMCG environments.
Technical Expertise: Experience in handling cash management solutions and financial service digital applications (web, e-commerce, mobile, and USSD) is essential. Experience in trade product/supply chain financing is an added advantage.
