Kirinyaga University is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Statistics to join the Faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and evaluating undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting scholarly research, developing curricula, and participating in departmental administration.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and evaluation of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Setting, moderating, administering, processing, and marking examinations.
Academic advising and mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Participating in professional and community services.
Initiating linkages and resource mobilization.
Initiating, promoting, and conducting research.
Developing teaching and learning materials.
Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in research activities.
Participating in preparation of Department and Faculty development plans.
Attending and participating in seminars, workshops, and conferences in relevant fields.
Participating in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula in the Department.
Attending and participating in Departmental meetings and other activities for effective and efficient management of the Department and Faculty.
Undertaking administrative duties and other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications & Requirements
An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
At least three (3) years teaching experience at the University Level as a Lecturer or six (6) years research/industry experience.
Registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable).
A minimum of forty (40) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least fifteen (15) should be from refereed scholarly journals.
Supervised at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a lecturer or equivalent.
