Kirinyaga University is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Lecturer in Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics Management.
Role Overview
The Senior Lecturer will be responsible for teaching and evaluation, research, mentoring students, curriculum development, and contributing to the academic and administrative leadership of the Department and Faculty.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and evaluation of undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Setting, moderating, administering, processing, and marking examinations
- Academic advising and mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Participating in professional and community services
- Initiating linkages and resource mobilization
- Initiating, promoting, and conducting research
- Developing teaching and learning materials
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in research activities
- Participating in preparation of Department and Faculty development plans
- Attending and participating in seminars, workshops, and conferences in relevant fields
- Participating in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula in the Department
- Attending and participating in Departmental meetings and other management activities
- Undertaking administrative duties and other assigned responsibilities
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least three (3) years teaching experience at the University Level as a Lecturer or six (6) years research/industry experience
- Registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable)
- A minimum of forty (40) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least fifteen (15) should be from refereed scholarly journals
- Supervised at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a lecturer or equivalent
- Relevant degree qualifications (BA/BSc/HND or equivalent in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics Management, or related field)
