Senior Lecturer French

The University of Embu is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join the faculty as a Senior Lecturer in French. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to university students, conducting original research, and contributing to the academic growth of the institution through publication and student supervision. This role requires a dedicated academic who has demonstrated excellence in teaching and research within the higher education sector.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n- Delivery of lectures and tutorials in French language and literature.\n- Supervision of postgraduate students (specifically Master's level) to successful completion.\n- Conducting impactful research and publishing findings in recognized scholarly journals.\n- Identifying and securing research funding through grant applications.\n- Participating in departmental and university-wide leadership and administrative activities.\n- Engaging in continuous professional development and academic networking.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n- Must possess a PhD or Fellowship in French or a related field.\n- Have at least five (5) years of university teaching experience, three (3) of which as a full-time Lecturer.\n- Have at least 32 publication points, 24 of which are from articles in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Lecturer.\n- Have successfully supervised to completion at least four (4) Masters students since being appointed Lecturer.\n- Show evidence of successfully securing at least one (1) research grant since being appointed Lecturer.\n- Show evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.\n- Show evidence of active participation/leadership in university activities.\n- Show evidence of continued research.\n\n### How to Apply\nApplicants should notify the three (3) referees to send their recommendation letters directly to the undersigned in a sealed envelope or in soft via vc@embuni.ac.ke before the deadline.
