Senior Lecturer - Educational Administration, Planning, and Economics

The University of Embu is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Lecturer in Educational Administration, Planning, and Economics. This academic role involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting continuous scholarly research, supervising postgraduate research, and contributing actively to university administration and community service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lectures and instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Educational Administration, Planning, and Economics.
• Conduct advanced academic research and continuously publish findings in refereed scholarly journals.
• Supervise postgraduate student research (Masters and PhD) to successful completion.
• Develop research proposals and actively secure external research funding and grants.
• Attend and make contributions at academic conferences, seminars, or workshops.
• Participate in administrative duties, university committees, and departmental leadership activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must be a holder of an earned PhD degree in Educational Administration, Planning, and Economics, or a relevant area of specialty.
• At least five (5) years of university teaching experience, with at least three (3) years as a full-time Lecturer.
• A minimum of 32 publication points, with at least 24 of these points from articles in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Lecturer.
• Successful supervision to completion of at least four (4) Master's students since being appointed Lecturer.
• Evidence of successfully securing at least one (1) research grant since being appointed Lecturer.
• Proven evidence of participation in learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
• Evidence of active participation or leadership in university activities.
• Evidence of continued research.
