Job Description
Kenyatta University is seeking a Senior Lecturer for the Department of Clinical Radiology and Imaging Services. The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership, deliver high-quality instruction, and contribute to the university's research output. The role involves teaching and supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students, undertaking further research in their area of specialization, and participating in university, faculty, and departmental activities.
Responsibilities
Deliver lectures and facilitate learning for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Clinical Radiology and Imaging Services.
Supervise research projects and theses for at least three post-graduate students since the last appointment.
Conduct original research and publish at least three (3) articles in refereed journals.
Participate in the development and review of academic curricula within the department.
Engaged in administrative duties at the departmental and university levels.
Provide community service and professional guidance in the area of specialization.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic Background: Must have earned a PhD Degree in Medicine or Public Health or its equivalent from an accredited University.
Specialization: Must hold a Master's in Medicine Degree (MMed) in Diagnostic Radiology or an equivalent Master’s Degree from an accredited University.
Experience: At least three (3) years of University teaching experience as a Lecturer or research fellow, OR a minimum of six (6) years of industry experience in the relevant field.
Research Output: A minimum of three (3) articles in refereed journals since being appointed as a Lecturer.
Student Mentorship: Evidence of successful supervision of at least three (3) post-graduate students.
Professional Registration: Must be registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) with a valid practicing license.
Additional Assets: Evidence of attracting research or development funds or educational resources and proof of community service are added advantages.
