The University of Embu (UoEm) is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security. The University, which evolved from the former Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College, is committed to academic excellence, research, and consultancy. The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership, engage in high-level research, and contribute to the teaching and supervision of students in the field of Cyber Security.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Supervise Masters and PhD students to successful completion.
Conduct original research and publish in refereed scholarly journals.
Secure research grants to support academic projects.
Contribute to the development of curricula and course materials.
Participate in university activities and provide leadership in departmental or faculty-level initiatives.
Attend and contribute to learned conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must have at least five (5) years of university teaching experience, with at least three (3) of those years served as a full-time Lecturer.
Must have accumulated at least 32 publication points, with at least 24 of these points from articles in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed as a Lecturer.
Evidence of having successfully supervised to completion at least four (4) Masters students since being appointed as a Lecturer.
Evidence of successfully securing at least one (1) research grant since being appointed as a Lecturer.
Demonstrated contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
Evidence of active participation or leadership in university activities.
Proof of continued research involvement.
Educational qualifications must include a PhD/Fellowship and a Master's degree (MBA/MSc/MA) in a relevant field.
