The Senior Institutional Accreditation Officer (Job Grade Cue 5) at the Commission for University Education is responsible for ensuring the quality and coordination of university education. The role involves the rigorous evaluation of proposals for new universities, satellite campuses, and academic collaborations, alongside the oversight of institutional inspections and peer reviewer training.
Duties and Responsibilities
Proposal Evaluation: Assessing proposals for proposed universities and preparing comprehensive evaluation reports.
Peer Review Coordination: Coordinating the training sessions for peer reviewers to ensure consistent assessment standards.
Inspections Management: Overseeing the organization and execution of institutional inspections.
Technical Reporting: Preparing detailed technical reports and briefs on institutions seeking accreditation or upgrading in university education.
Collaborative & Campus Oversight: Evaluating proposals from institutions seeking to establish satellite campuses or enter into collaborations regarding university education.
Institutional Monitoring: Evaluating institutional reports and maintaining accurate status reports on the evaluation of academic programs.
Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, an officer must meet the following criteria:
A minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience.
A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Education, Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
Current membership to relevant professional bodies and in good standing.
Completion of a Supervisory Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
