Job Description
About the Role
The National Council for Children’s Services (NCCS) is seeking a Senior Information Communications Technology Officer. This role involves the technical management of the Council's information systems, including software development, hardware maintenance, and cybersecurity implementation. The successful candidate will ensure that the digital infrastructure is robust, efficient, and secure.
Duties and Responsibilities
Writing and testing computer programs to meet organizational requirements.
Verifying, enhancing, and maintaining existing computer programs.
Providing comprehensive user support across the Council's departments.
Monitoring system performance and implementing preventive maintenance for servers and other ICT equipment.
Maintaining an up-to-date ICT inventory and asset management register.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
A cumulative service period of six (6) years, three (3) of which must be at the grade of ICT Officer or in a comparable position.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Relevant professional certifications in at least one of the following areas:
Systems and Server Administration: MCSA, MCSE, or CompTIA.
Programming, Database, and System Deployment: MCSD, SQL, AWS, or Oracle.
Networking: CCNA, CCNP, HCNA, or HCNP.
Security and Data Protection: CISM, CISA, or Ethical Hacking.
Project Management: PMP or PRINCE2.
Membership in ISACA or a relevant professional body.
Proven experience in ICT support and administration with a strong technical background in IT systems and networks.
Experience with ICT project management and implementation.
Familiarity with ICT procurement processes and vendor management.
A solid understanding of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
Knowledge of cybersecurity threats and countermeasures, with experience implementing security controls.
