The Commission for University Education (CUE) is seeking a Senior ICT Assistant to provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of its ICT systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing network infrastructure, maintaining hardware and software, and assisting users with technical challenges to ensure organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Installing, updating, and optimizing network systems.
Monitoring Servers, Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and WI-FI to ensure coverage.
Coordinating with design, implementation, and support of new software and features.
Attending to ICT-related issues, hardware maintenance, software, and networking.
Initiating procurement requisitions from the stores for the CUE ICT department.
Providing helpdesk and technical support either by phone, remote access, or site visit.
Setting up equipment for new users and employees and onboarding them on their usage.
Coordinating repair and maintenance of ICT equipment and associated peripherals.
Ensuring system optimization for all technology resources.
Performing data backups to ensure all Commission data and systems are secure.
Implementing, installing, and maintaining the Commission’s communication and telephone systems.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems from an institution recognized in Kenya.
Four (4) years of relevant work experience.
Professional Qualifications and Membership to professional bodies.
Relevant ICT certification from recognized certification bodies.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.
