The Micro and Small Enterprise Authority (MSEA) is a state corporation established under the Micro and Small Enterprise Act No. 55 of 2012. The Authority is responsible for the implementation and coordination of policies and programs designed to support Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in Kenya.
Role Overview
The Senior Enterprise Development Officer (MSEA GRADE 5), based in Kisumu, is responsible for driving the growth of micro and small enterprises through policy implementation, business advisory services, and stakeholder engagement. This role involves coordinating regional programs to enhance MSE competitiveness and facilitating access to essential resources like finance and training.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Implementing policies, projects, and programmes in relation to Micro and Small Enterprises.
Marketing Authority programmes to stakeholders and the public.
Writing proposals for funding to support MSE initiatives.
Executing various enterprise development programmes and projects.
Providing professional business counselling and advisory services to entrepreneurs.
Evaluating training programmes and exhibition events to ensure impact.
Liaising with stakeholders on program implementation and resource mobilization.
Compiling comprehensive training and exhibition reports.
Coordinating regional events and programmes for MSEs.
Preparing periodic and quarterly performance reports.
Disseminating information on access to finance by MSEs.
Evaluating the implementation of projects and programmes relating to or affecting MSEs.
Requirements and Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Administration, Strategic Management, Agri-Business, Marketing, Commerce, Enterprise Development, Human Resource Management/Development, Arts and design, or any other social sciences from a recognized institution.
A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Completion of a supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks is considered an added advantage.
