Job Description
Role Overview
The Micro and Small Enterprise Authority (MSEA) is a state corporation established under the Micro and Small Enterprise Act No. 55 of 2012, currently domiciled in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives. The Senior Enterprise Development Officer (MSEA Grade 5) is responsible for driving the growth of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) through the implementation of government policies, provision of advisory services, and management of regional development projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Implementing policies, projects, and programmes in relation to Micro and Small Enterprise.
Marketing Authority programmes to target audiences and stakeholders.
Writing professional proposals for funding to support MSE initiatives.
Implementing assigned programmes and projects effectively.
Providing essential business counselling and advisory services to entrepreneurs.
Evaluating the impact and effectiveness of training programmes and exhibition events.
Liaising with various stakeholders on the successful implementation of programs.
Compiling comprehensive training and exhibition reports.
Coordinating events and programmes at the regional level.
Preparing periodic and quarterly progress reports.
Disseminating information regarding access to finance for MSEs.
Evaluating the implementation of projects and programmes specifically relating to or affecting the MSE sector.
Person Specifications and Qualifications
For appointment to this position, a candidate must possess:
A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Administration, Strategic Management, Agri-Business, Marketing, Commerce, Enterprise Development, Human Resource Management/Development, Arts and Design, or any other social sciences from a recognized institution.
A minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience in enterprise development or a related field.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Possession of a supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks is considered an added advantage.
