The Senior Enterprise Development Officer (MSEA Grade 5) is responsible for implementing and coordinating policies, projects, and programs geared towards the growth and sustainability of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). The role involves strategic program marketing, stakeholder engagement, and providing direct support through business counseling and financial information dissemination.
Duties and Responsibilities
Policy and Program Implementation: Execute policies, projects, and programmes in relation to Micro and Small Enterprises.
Marketing and Outreach: Market Authority programmes to ensure wide reach and impact.
Resource Mobilization: Write proposals for funding to support MSE initiatives.
Project Execution: Implement specific programmes and projects as assigned.
Business Advisory: Provide business counseling to entrepreneurs within the MSE sector.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Evaluate training programmes and exhibition events; evaluate the implementation of projects and programs affecting MSEs.
Stakeholder Liaising: Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation.
Reporting: Compile training and exhibition reports; prepare periodic and quarterly reports on regional activities.
Regional Coordination: Coordinate regional events and programmes focused on enterprise development.
Financial Information: Disseminate information on access to finance by MSEs.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:
A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Administration, Strategic Management, Agri-Business, Marketing, Commerce, Enterprise Development, Human Resource Management/Development, Arts and Design, or any other social sciences from a recognized institution.
A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
A supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks is considered an added advantage.
