Senior Economist I/Senior Statistician I

This role, Senior Economist I/Senior Statistician I (2 Posts), is a senior-level position within the County Government of Kitui focused on economic planning, policy formulation, and statistical analysis. The successful candidates will be responsible for leading teams and guiding crucial development initiatives. The terms of service for this position are Permanent and Pensionable.

Salary Scale

The salary scale is Ksh. 58,360 x 2,750 – 61,110 x 2,920 – 64,030 x 3,080 – 67,110 x 3,540 – 70,650 x 3,690 – 74,340 x 3,890 – 78,230 x 3,900 – 82,130 x 4,010 – 86,140 x 4,060 – 90,200 per month (p.m.).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervision of several Economists I/Statisticians I.
• Assisting in formulation of economic and statistical policies.
• Initiation, implementation and appraisal of national, rural or urban development strategies and projects.

Requirements for Appointment

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a Citizen of Kenya.
2. Served at the level of Senior Economist II/Senior Statistician II, Job Group ‘M’ for a minimum period of three (3) years.
3. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Economics and Mathematics or Economics and Statistics from a recognized institution.
4. Demonstrated administrative and professional competence in executing work at this level.
5. Attained qualifications in Economics or Statistics of at least Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MSc) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil.) level or their equivalent recognized qualifications.
