Senior Curriculum Development Officer (Indigenous Languages-Secondary)

The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) was established to provide research-based curricula and curriculum support materials responsive to the needs of society. The role of the Senior Curriculum Development Officer (Indigenous Languages-Secondary) is critical in achieving this mandate by focusing on secondary education curriculum for Indigenous Languages.

Job Specifications: Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities shall entail:

1. Developing relevant, high-quality curricula and curriculum support materials for Indigenous Languages (Secondary Education);
2. Participating in curriculum orientation, dissemination, and capacity-building activities for Indigenous Languages (Secondary Education);
3. Providing technical and professional input to the activities of the Indigenous Languages subject and course panels;
4. Conducting basic, applied, and action research to inform the development, review, and improvement of Indigenous Languages (Secondary Education) curricula and curriculum support materials; and
5. Managing curriculum and research data, and effectively communicating research findings to inform curriculum implementation and policy decisions.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Four (4) years of relevant experience;
• Computer literacy;
• Fulfil the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
