Senior Curriculum Development Officer English/Literature in English

The role of the Senior Curriculum Development Officer for English/Literature in English at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) involves leading the development, review, and continuous improvement of curricula and curriculum support materials specifically for secondary school level English and Literature subjects.

Job Specifications: Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate shall be responsible for:

• Developing relevant, high-quality curricula and curriculum support materials for English and Literature at the secondary school level education;
• Participating in curriculum orientation, dissemination, and capacity-building activities for English and Literature education;
• Providing technical and professional input to the activities of English and Literature subject and course panels;
• Conducting basic, applied, and action research to inform the development, review, and continuous improvement of English and Literature curricula and curriculum support materials; and
• Managing curriculum and research data, and effectively communicating research findings to support effective implementation of the English and Literature curriculum and inform policy decisions.

Person Specifications (Qualifications and Experience)

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Four (4) years of relevant experience;
• Computer literacy;
• Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
