The Deputy Chief Security Officer is a critical role responsible for the safety and security operations within Mombasa County's public service infrastructure. This position involves managing security risks, coordinating emergency responses, and overseeing the technical and personnel aspects of the security department to ensure a secure environment for public service delivery. The role focuses on supervising both internal security protocols and outsourced security providers to maintain high standards of safety.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage and coordinate security operations within public institutions and hospitals.
Supervise and evaluate the performance of outsourced security service providers and internal staff.
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of electronic security systems including CCTV, access control, and alarms.
Develop and implement robust risk management strategies and emergency response protocols.
Prepare detailed security reports and provide analytical insights to management.
Engage with various stakeholders to ensure effective security coordination and communication.
Ensure a high level of accountability, professionalism, and integrity within the security team.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in security management, criminology, disaster management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
At least three (3) years’ relevant experience in security management, preferably in a hospital, public institution, or security firm.
Experience in managing outsourced services or contract supervision will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of electronic security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
Good understanding of security operations, risk management, and emergency response procedures.
Strong analytical, reporting, and coordination skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Valid certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
