Role Overview\n\nThe Security Manager at Browns Plantations is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating threats to personnel, assets, and business operations within the company’s factories and estates. The role ensures that all security measures are implemented in a timely and cost-effective manner to safeguard the organization's interests in its Kericho-based tea estates.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect assets and personnel.\n- Oversee 3rd Party Security contractors, ensuring performance meets agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).\n- Lead and manage the internal security team, fostering a culture of professionalism and integrity through guidance and training.\n- Manage traveler support across the business through the Security Coordination Centre and ensure safety during travel within Kenya.\n- Oversee access control, surveillance, and alarm systems. Coordinate regular drills and training exercises.\n- Conduct risk assessments and security audits. Develop incident response plans, investigate breaches, and recommend corrective actions.\n- Build relationships with Law Enforcement, community leaders, village elders, and emergency services. Provide coordination for high-profile visits and events.\n- Conduct security inductions for all new employees and international visitors regarding in-country security issues.\n- Conduct routine spot checks to ensure safety compliance and coordinate night shift security operations, including monitoring night harvesting activities.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n\n- Masters or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field.\n- At least 7 years of progressive security management experience in industrial, manufacturing, mining, FMCG, or heavy industry environments.\n- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing Security Command Centre operations.\n- Strong knowledge of physical and electronic security (CCTV, intruder alarms, perimeter protection) and protection of company information.\n- Former experience in law enforcement, military, or intelligence services is highly valued.\n- Professional certifications like CPP or PSP are considered an added advantage.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the Browns Plantations recruitment portal.
