About the Role
The Station Scheduler is responsible for the strategic and compliant planning, scheduling, and coordination of all radio content. The primary objective is to ensure that programming grids reflect the station’s editorial, spiritual, commercial, and audience engagement goals, effectively balancing ministry purpose with audience growth and revenue performance. The Scheduler ensures all schedules adhere to Hope Media’s house style and meet all transmission regulatory, internal, and external standards.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule Management: Develop and manage 24-hour daily, weekly, and seasonal broadcast schedules including programmes, music, commercials, and promos.
Alignment: Ensure schedules align with editorial, spiritual, commercial, and audience engagement objectives.
Collaboration: Work with programming, production, revenue, marketing, and technical teams to ensure seamless execution.
Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate live broadcasts, special programmes, and event coverage across various platforms.
Performance Optimization: Use audience analytics and feedback to optimize scheduling performance and listener engagement.
Content Management: Receive, vet, and manage all audio content, ensuring compliance with editorial standards and broadcast readiness.
Systems Maintenance: Update scheduling and automation systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations.
Music Scheduling: Coordinate music scheduling to maintain consistency with the station’s brand identity.
Integration: Effectively integrate advertising, sponsorships, and ministry content within programming schedules.
Reporting: Monitor time band performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate broadcast logs.
Innovation: Drive innovation in scheduling, digital integration, and content delivery.
Requirements
Faith: Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM statement of faith.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mass Communication or a related field.
Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in radio scheduling, programming, or traffic coordination.
Technical Expertise: Proven expertise in content planning, music rotation, and broadcast optimization. Proficient in broadcast automation and scheduling systems (e.g., Synergy, RCS, Dalet).
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with regulatory and compliance frameworks including CA, KFCB, KAMP, and PRISK.
Skills: Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills with high attention to detail and creativity.
Flexibility: Adaptable to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and during live event schedules.
