Harleys Limited is a leading distributor of healthcare, pharmaceutical, surgical, and OTC products in Kenya. The company is seeking a Sales Representative for OTC Supermarket products based in Kisumu to sell and promote its range of OTC products, expand market presence, and manage client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Marketing: Sell and promote a wide range of OTC products distributed by Harleys. Adhere to the sales budget for the allocated main line/zone and increase market penetration of products as per the Must-Stock List. Ensure the listing and placement of new products.
Service Excellence: Attend to the specific needs of both internal and external customers, as well as third parties, by responding to queries and providing assistance in a timely manner, in line with established service standards.
Customer Service: Conduct customer visits according to the agreed target schedule for each customer category, and adjust sales presentation accordingly. Provide service to existing accounts, obtain orders, and organize daily work schedule to call existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors. Ensure proper merchandising and placement of promotional materials. Assist in the collection of payments from customers. Resolve customer complaints including product return issues, by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
Reporting: Provide feedback to management through the submission of reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly reports) and make proper use of the reporting system. Gather and submit market intelligence reports on pricing, product performance (including existing and new launches), delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, and other relevant market insights.
Controls & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, tax regulations, SOPs, and audit requirements.
Stock Control: Ensure sufficient stocks are maintained at all supply chain levels. Coordinate with the Category team for the timely processing of purchase orders as per the lead time.
Adaptability & General Support: Demonstrate initiative, resilience, and a proactive mindset by embracing change and supporting additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma in Sales/Marketing or in a relevant field.
Previous experience in the marketing of pharmaceutical products will be an advantage.
At least 2 years of field sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage vendors and internal stakeholders professionally.
High level of integrity, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
