The Sales Executive role is crucial for driving the sales of sugarcane harvesting equipment. The ideal candidate will combine strategic sales acumen with industry knowledge, a solid understanding of mechanization trends, and the ability to translate technical product features into tangible value for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell sugarcane harvesting equipment, including harvesters, loaders, tractors, and grab loaders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with sugar mills, estates, harvesting contractors, and farmer organizations.
- Identify mechanization opportunities in regions transitioning from manual to mechanized harvesting.
- Achieve assigned sales targets, revenue goals, and market penetration objectives.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals tailored to sugar mills, estates, and contractors.
- Support tender submissions to sugar mills, county governments, and other government agencies.
- Gather and analyze market intelligence on competitors, pricing, and mechanization trends.
Key Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in agricultural machinery sales or related agri-business roles.
- Experience selling to sugar mills, estates, contractors, or large-scale farming operations is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of sugarcane farming systems and harvesting cycles.
- Knowledge of the Kenyan sugar industry and key players (e.g., Mumias, Nzoia, SONY, West Kenya).
- Familiarity with mechanized harvesting solutions and their productivity benefits.
- Basic understanding of agricultural equipment financing and procurement processes.
