The SACCO Chief Executive Officer provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to drive the Sacco's growth, financial stability, and long-term sustainability while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Sacco’s growth and financial stability.
Ensure adherence to SASRA guidelines, regulations, and all other relevant laws, rules, and regulations.
Identify and mitigate risks, enforcing internal controls to ensure business continuity.
Serve as the chief custodian of all Sacco assets and ensure their optimum utilization.
Oversee budgeting, liquidity, and investment portfolio management to ensure long-term sustainability and returns to shareholders.
Spearhead digital transformation and innovation for operational efficiency and service excellence.
Foster a conducive corporate culture that promotes strong ethical practices, good governance, and employee productivity.
Implement the Sacco’s Strategic Plan, policies, and business plans.
Grow the Sacco business across both FOSA and BOSA in terms of products, loan portfolio, revenues, and assets as stipulated in the Strategic Plan.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with regulators and other stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and relevant bodies.
Set up performance management systems and evaluate staff performance.
Manage the Sacco’s budget, ensuring spending aligns with the overall approved budget.
Prepare and present timely progress reports to the Board of Directors.
Perform any other lawful duty assigned by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or its equivalent from a recognized university.
Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline from a recognized university is an added advantage.
Active membership in a professional body in good standing.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior management position in a Deposit-Taking Sacco.
