Job Description
Equity Afia is a network of medical entrepreneurs aiming to provide high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare across Kenya. The organization is seeking a Resident Medical Officer/Clinic Lead for its Mwingi facility to deliver patient care, oversee daily clinical operations, and manage health service delivery.
Key Responsibilities & Role Overview
Diagnose and manage patient care while ensuring high standards of medical treatment.
Oversee clinical operations, manage clinic staff, and lead health service delivery.
Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, regulations, documentation, and reporting procedures.
Utilize Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) for clinical and operational efficiency.
Support financial management tasks, including budgeting and cost management.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or MBBS) from a recognized university.
Registered and possessing a valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
At least one (1) year of post-internship experience in a public or private hospital setting.
Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
Knowledge of healthcare policies, documentation, and reporting procedures.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Strong clinical decision-making and patient management skills.
Interest and capability in leading medical teams and managing staff.
Knowledge of Kenyan healthcare laws, regulations, guidelines, and health schemes.
