Nestlé is looking for a Replenishment Specialist to be based in Kenya. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal product availability at customer distribution centers and stores through data-driven forecasting, proactive inventory management, and strong collaboration between Customer, Demand & Supply Planning, Sales, and Physical Logistics. The role safeguards service levels, minimizes waste, and drives continuous improvement across the replenishment and order-to-cash value stream.
Key Responsibilities
Replenishment Planning & Inventory Optimization
- Utilize advanced forecasting and planning tools to develop optimal replenishment orders within Nestlé or customer VMI/CMI systems.
- Balance service level, inventory targets, capacity constraints, and customer delivery requirements.
- Monitor leading indicators such as system alerts, stock holding, and demand changes.
- Maintain master data inputs including lead times, delivery windows, network flows, and NPD introductions.
Out-of-Stock (OOS) Risk Management
- Proactively identify OOS vulnerabilities through analytics on demand patterns, stock levels, and forecast deviations.
- Lead the mitigation actions—including dynamic stock allocation rules, prioritized customer replenishment, and cross-functional escalation.
- Ensure early and clear communication with all stakeholders including Sales, DSP, Physical Logistics, and Customer.
Customer Collaboration & Issue Resolution
- Act as the key operational contact for VMI/CMI customers on stock-related issues.
- Provide timely visibility to customers regarding supply risks, recovery plans, and stock movements.
- Partner with customer teams to optimize DC-to-store performance and reduce stock losses.
Exception & Order Fulfilment Management
- Collaborate with CSA teams in resolving exceptions such as load optimization, carrier selection, credit blocks, delivery delays, and appointment constraints.
- Lead root-cause identification and long-term corrective actions to minimize recurrence.
- Support accurate and timely order fulfilment aligned to OTIF and COF metrics.
Billing, Returns, Claims & Deductions Management
- Support CSA in proforma invoice creation, billing corrections, and exception resolution.
- Guide mitigation for product refusals to minimize financial impact while maintaining customer goodwill.
- Ensure claims/deductions are validated and processed within SLA to protect customer experience and financial accuracy.
Continuous Improvement & Digital Enablement
- Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities across replenishment, forecasting, order processing, and exception management.
- Promote automation, data-driven decision-making, and system enhancements.
- Participate in market or regional projects related to SC optimization, VMI upgrades, or analytics.
Requirements
- Degree in Economics, Business, General Science, or a related field.
- 4-5 years of operational experience in an order fulfillment role within a similar market environment or trade structure.
- Operational experience working for or with a customer in a collaborative environment.
- Experience in other Supply Chain functions such as Physical Logistics or Sales support is beneficial.
- Experience in related business improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of Generating Demand, Supply Chain, and Finance processes for pricing.
- Understanding of Logistics processes including Materials Handling.
- Basic understanding of the O2C flow and key business functions outside of the O2C stream.
