Mount Kenya University is seeking a dedicated Remote Tele-Medicine Lecturer in Virology to join its Medical School. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality online lectures, virtual demonstrations, and tele-medicine training sessions. This role involves developing digital instructional content, mentoring students through virtual platforms, and conducting clinical case discussions using modern health technologies. You will be expected to support students in research activities and ensure the effective use of tele-medicine systems to achieve educational outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Deliver online lectures and virtual demonstrations in line with the approved curriculum.
- Prepare digital teaching materials and e-learning resources for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- Facilitate interactive online learning using virtual platforms and teleconferencing tools.
- Administer and grade online Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs), assignments, and examinations according to university regulations.
- Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and supervision to students virtually.
- Support clinical case discussions, tele-medicine simulations, and evidence-based practice.
- Maintain accurate electronic student records within the Academic Management System.
- Stay current with advancements in tele-medicine and digital health technologies.
- Participate in virtual academic meetings, curriculum reviews, and quality assurance activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on research and digital healthcare innovation initiatives.
- Uphold confidentiality, data protection, and ethical standards in instruction.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
- Masters of Medicine in a relevant area of specialization from a recognized academic institution.
- At least three years of teaching and research experience at the university level.
- Relevant work experience in the medical industry.
- Registered and licensed to practice by the Relevant Professional Body.
- An earned PhD in a relevant area or being registered/registrable for a PhD is an added advantage.
