Mount Kenya University is seeking a Remote Tele-Medicine Lecturer specialized in Oncology to join the Medical School. This position involves delivering high-quality medical education through digital and tele-health platforms, focusing on both undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will report to the Dean of the Medical School and be responsible for curriculum delivery, virtual clinical simulations, and student mentorship.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery: Deliver online lectures, virtual demonstrations, and tele-medicine training sessions in accordance with the approved curriculum.
Digital Content Creation: Prepare digital teaching materials, e-learning resources, and virtual instructional content.
Interactive Learning: Facilitate interactive online learning experiences through virtual platforms and teleconferencing technologies.
Assessment: Administer online Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs), assignments, and practical assessments; set, invigilate, mark, and submit examination results within timelines.
Student Mentorship: Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and supervision through virtual platforms.
Clinical Support: Support students in clinical case discussions, tele-medicine simulations, research activities, and evidence-based practice.
Data Management: Maintain accurate electronic student records, attendance registers, and progress updates within the Academic Management System.
Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of advancements in tele-medicine and digital health technologies to enhance curriculum delivery.
Professional Engagement: Participate in virtual academic meetings, curriculum reviews, quality assurance activities, workshops, and conferences.
Ethics and Standards: Observe confidentiality, data protection requirements, and professional ethical standards in online instruction.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and a Master of Medicine in a relevant oncology area of specialization.
Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching and research experience at a university level.
Industry Experience: Relevant work experience within the industry is required.
Professional Registration: Must be registered and licensed to practice by the relevant Professional Body.
Added Advantage: An earned PhD degree in the relevant area or current registration for a PhD program.
