The university is seeking a Remote Tele-Medicine Lecturer specializing in Internal Medicine to support its goal of promoting human resource development through international best practices.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Dean of the Medical School, the Remote Tele-Medicine Lecturer will be responsible for delivering virtual education and training in Internal Medicine. This involves the use of digital platforms to mentor students, deliver curriculum, and advance tele-medicine practices within the university's framework.
Key Responsibilities
Virtual Instruction: Deliver online lectures, virtual demonstrations, and tele-medicine training sessions according to the approved curriculum.
Content Development: Prepare digital teaching materials, e-learning resources, and virtual instructional content for both undergraduate and graduate students.
Interactive Learning: Facilitate online learning experiences using virtual platforms and teleconferencing technologies.
Assessment and Grading: Administer online Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs), assignments, and examinations; set, invigilate, and mark assessments within stipulated timelines.
Student Support: Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and supervision via virtual platforms, including clinical case discussions and tele-medicine simulations.
System Management: Utilize tele-medicine technologies and digital systems effectively, maintaining accurate electronic student records and attendance registers.
Professional Development: Stay updated on advancements in tele-medicine and digital health technologies to improve curriculum delivery.
Collaboration: Participate in virtual academic meetings, curriculum reviews, quality assurance activities, and professional seminars.
Ethics and Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality, data protection standards, and professional ethical standards in all online instruction.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and a Master of Medicine in a relevant area of specialization.
Experience: At least three years of teaching and research experience at the university level.
Industry Experience: Relevant work experience in the medical industry.
Licensing: Must be registered and licensed to practice by the relevant Professional Body.
Advanced Degree: An earned PhD in a relevant area or being registered/registrable for a PhD is a significant added advantage.
