Mount Kenya University (MKU) is seeking a qualified and experienced Remote Tele-Medicine Lecturer specializing in Clinical Pathology. Reporting to the Dean of the Medical School, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering medical education through digital platforms and advancing the university's tele-medicine training initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Virtual Instruction: Deliver online lectures, virtual demonstrations, and tele-medicine training sessions in accordance with the approved curriculum and course schedules.
Content Development: Prepare digital teaching materials, e-learning resources, and virtual instructional content for both undergraduate and graduate students.
Learning Facilitation: Facilitate interactive online learning experiences through virtual platforms and teleconferencing technologies.
Assessments: Administer online Continuous Assessment Tests (CATs), assignments, practical assessments, and examinations. Set, mark, and submit results within university timelines.
Student Support: Provide academic guidance, mentorship, and supervision via virtual platforms, including clinical case discussions and tele-medicine simulations.
Technological Management: Ensure effective utilization of digital learning systems and tele-medicine technologies.
Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate electronic student records, attendance registers, and progress reports within the Academic Management System.
Collaboration: Participate in virtual academic meetings, curriculum reviews, workshops, and seminars. Collaborate on digital healthcare research and innovation initiatives.
Ethical Standards: Observe confidentiality, data protection, and professional ethics in online instruction.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Masters of Medicine (MMed) in Clinical Pathology or a relevant area from a recognized institution.
Basic Medical Degree: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
Experience: At least three years of teaching and research experience at the university level, plus relevant work experience in the medical industry.
Licensure: Must be registered and licensed to practice by the relevant Professional Body (e.g., KMPDC).
Additional Advantage: An earned PhD degree in the relevant area or being registered for a PhD qualification.
