The Relationship & Wealth Manager for Premier Banking is responsible for growing the affluent customer portfolio through the acquisition of new-to-bank clients, focusing on quality accounts and cross-sell opportunities. The role involves driving growth in deposits (liabilities), loans (assets), and fee-based income through investment products, bancassurance, and foreign exchange solutions. The successful candidate will champion the uptake of wealth management solutions aligned with customer goals and risk profiles, while delivering on financial targets including portfolio growth, revenue, and customer profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Business and Financial Performance
Acquire new-to-bank clients and drive growth in liabilities (deposits), assets (loans), and fee-based income.
Deliver on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial targets including portfolio growth, revenue, product per customer, and customer profitability.
Identify and pursue business development opportunities through referrals, strategic events, and partnership networks.
Track portfolio performance and conduct regular portfolio reviews with clients on their investments.
Customer Excellence
Offer personalized financial advice and relationship management tailored to each client’s lifecycle needs and risk profile.
Serve as the single point of contact for affluent clients, ensuring seamless service delivery and quick resolution of issues.
Leverage CRM tools (Engage) to monitor client activity, preferences, and service metrics.
Conduct regular portfolio reviews to assess customer needs and suggest relevant banking and investment solutions.
Foster strong client loyalty and advocacy by delivering consistent, value-added interactions.
Leadership and People Management
Provide guidance and support to other Relationship Managers in delivering wealth management and financial advisory services.
Share knowledge, market insights, and best practices to enhance the team's overall advisory capabilities.
Act as a role model in professionalism, ethical standards, and client engagement.
Coach and mentor team members on wealth management where applicable.
Process, Control, and Operational Performance
Ensure full adherence to internal policies, Operational Risk, and Compliance guidelines such as KYC and anti-money laundering measures.
Constantly monitor credit portfolio to ensure maximum of 3% Non-Performing Loans (NPL).
Ensure high standards of operational efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround times across customer transactions and service requests.
Strategic Initiatives
Contribute to the execution of the bank’s affluent and wealth management strategy.
Act as a champion for investment advisory within the team, helping elevate client value propositions.
Participate in campaigns, events, and digital initiatives to drive brand awareness and product uptake.
Provide feedback to product, marketing, and digital teams for continuous improvement.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in affluent relationship management or financial advisory with a proven focus on wealth management.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field (Master’s or professional certification is an added advantage).
Certification in Financial Advisory such as CISI, CFP, or CFA (Level 1 or higher) is required.
Proven track record in sales and portfolio management, with knowledge of wealth, investment, and insurance products.
Experience guiding or mentoring colleagues on wealth management topics is a strong plus.
