Role Overview
The Relationship Manager for Financial Institutions drives impact by leading relationships with banks, MFIs, SACCOs, and other financial partners to accelerate access to safe water and sanitation. This role involves deepening engagement through proactive collaboration, sparking product innovation, and measuring success through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management
- Drive Impact: Lead relationships with banks, MFIs, SACCOs, and other financial partners to fuel strong collaboration and shared success.
- Deepen Engagement: Maintain regular touchpoints, joint planning, and proactive performance monitoring to ensure exceptional service.
- Cultivate Partnerships: Build long-term partnerships that accelerate access to safe water and sanitation.
Business Development
- Identify Opportunities: Grow partnerships by identifying new opportunities to expand Water.org’s presence across both existing and emerging financial institutions.
- Product Innovation: Engage key decision-makers to help spark product innovation, strengthen financing solutions, and drive portfolio growth.
- Pipeline Building: Use a strategic approach to build a strong pipeline of mission-aligned partners committed to scaling access to safe water and sanitation.
Business Metrics + Reporting
- Measure Success: Track partner performance, portfolio growth, fund utilization, and progress toward impact goals.
- Data-Driven Insights: Provide timely reporting and clear insights to equip internal teams and external partners with information needed to strengthen strategies and improve outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years’ experience in relationship management, partnership development, or account management within: Banks, MFIs, SACCOs, MSME lending and/or Water/sanitation financing.
- Skills: Strong relationship-building skills with a proven history of expanding accounts or managing Financial Institution (FI) relationships.
- Mission Alignment: Passionate about making a difference and aligned with Water.org’s mission and values.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Communication: Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Travel: Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
