As a Relationship Manager in Corporate Banking, you will be responsible for directing, controlling, and coordinating all banking, lending, deposit-taking, and operations associated with an assigned portfolio of accounts. The role aims to monitor acceptable credit risk and maximize the bank's return from each client by identifying, cultivating, and developing business relationships within the bank's segmented market.
Key Responsibilities
Financial (60%)
Grow the Corporate banking business portfolio to ensure set targets for portfolio growth, income, and quality are achieved.
Assess and recommend high-quality credit facilities for clients and potential clients.
Oversee completion of all related security documentation to maximize earnings and minimize bad debts, ensuring conformity with Credit Policy requirements.
Identify and develop new business proposals efficiently and expeditiously to ensure that potential opportunities with existing and new clients are secured.
Generate and improve profitability on a portfolio of new customer relations.
Customer (20%)
Collect and analyze vital data on clients (including annual reports, management accounts, interim reports, and industry reports) to act as an advisor to management on all aspects of assigned accounts.
Initiate and monitor Bank-Customer contact at all levels for assigned clients to maintain the highest standards of service.
Develop an intimate understanding of the client's industry and business, analyzing their management practices and market conditions affecting their long-term viability.
Internal Business Processes (10%)
Adhere to Bank risk management and operational policies and standards within the unit.
Maintain compliance with local regulatory and group policies on KYC and AML.
Learning and Growth (10%)
Attend all training sessions arranged by the Bank.
Discuss career path and growth objectives with the line manager at least quarterly.
Job Specifications
Academic Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
A Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.
Experience
At least 5 years of working experience within a credit or front sales environment.
Professional Training and Skills
Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA are an added advantage.
Strong general banking expertise.
Prior experience within a Corporate Banking environment is highly desirable.
Strategic business development and credit risk assessment skills.
