Job Description
Embu County Government is seeking to recruit a qualified individual for the position of Records Management Officer II. This role is central to the systematic management of the County's records throughout their lifecycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that information is properly categorized, securely stored, and easily accessible while maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to government record-keeping regulations.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain efficient records management systems to support county operations.
Classify, index, and catalog records to ensure quick and accurate retrieval of information.
Ensure the security and physical integrity of all files and documents within the registry.
Assist in the digitization and archiving of paper-based records to improve information flow.
Monitor the movement of files and ensure a robust document tracking system is in place.
Ensure compliance with relevant legal and administrative requirements regarding record retention and disposal.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (BA/BSc/HND) in Records Management, Information Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Must possess a valid National Identity Card.
Provision of Academic and Professional Certificates along with relevant Testimonials.
Demonstrated proficiency in ICT and computer applications relevant to records management.
Shortlisting and Interview Requirements
Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide original documents and current Chapter Six clearance certificates from the following bodies:
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
