Job Description
The Records Management Officer I at the National Crime Research Centre (NCRC) is responsible for the efficient management of institutional records, ensuring security, proper indexing, and compliance with government regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Developing and ensuring implementation of records management policies and procedures.
Ensuring security of files and information.
Ensuring proper handling of documents, pending correspondences, and bring-ups.
Preparing disposal schedules in accordance with relevant government laws and regulations.
Ensuring classification and indexing of records.
Ensuring effective mail management.
Maintaining, verifying, and evaluating the existing records management system.
Job Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
A cumulative service period of three (3) years relevant work experience in the grade of Records and Information Officer II or in a comparable position.
Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: Information Science and Records Management, Records and Information Management, Library and Information Sciences, Information Studies, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer application skills.
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Successful candidates may be required to submit clearance certificates from the following bodies:
Kenya Revenue Authority (Valid Tax Compliance Certificate)
Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Certificate of Good Conduct)
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (Self-Declaration Form)
Credit Reference Bureau (Certificate of Clearance or Credit Report)
