Nandi County, known as Kenya’s athletics hub and the 'home of champions,' is home to world-celebrated athletes and record breakers. The County Government is seeking a dedicated Records Management Officer I to manage its information systems and records center. This role involves the systematic control of the creation, receipt, maintenance, use, and disposal of records within the county administration.
Responsibilities
Organizing and managing the county registry and records center.
Ensuring the security and confidentiality of all official records and sensitive information.
Implementing and maintaining efficient filing systems and classification schemes.
Supervising the receipt and dispatch of official mail and correspondence.
Facilitating the retrieval of information for authorized users within the county departments.
Overseeing the disposal of records in accordance with established legal retention schedules.
Ensuring compliance with national and county records management policies.
Requirements for Appointment
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Information Science, Records Management, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience from a comparable position.
Strong understanding of modern information management practices.
