Role Overview
National Quality Control Laboratory (NQCL) is a State Corporation within the Ministry of Health responsible for the Quality Control of Medicines on behalf of the Government. The Records Management and Information Officer I (NQCL 7) works under the guidance of a senior officer to manage organizational archives and records.
Duties and Responsibilities
Guideline Development: Reviewing and developing guidelines, procedure manuals, classification systems, and document retention schedules.
Program Implementation: Planning, organizing, and implementing records and archives management programs in accordance with statutory requirements and monitoring organizational compliance.
Security & Integrity: Ensuring the safety, security, integrity, and confidentiality of all records management services by supervising access to storage areas and ensuring proper labeling.
Appraisal & Disposal: Coordinating the appraisal of records and making periodic recommendations for permanent preservation or disposal in liaison with the Kenya National Archives and Documentation Services.
Quality Management: Contributing to the review, development, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in Quality Management Systems based on audit recommendations.
Requirements
Experience: At least three (3) years of experience at the grade of Records Management Officer II or in a comparable position.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Records and Archives Management, Records and Information Technology, Records and Information Science, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications.
