Role Overview
The Water Resources Authority (WRA) is the lead agency in the Management of Water Resources in Kenya, regulating and allocating national water resources. This is an entry and training grade for degree holders. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer within the Records and Information Management Function. This cadre is responsible for ensuring the flow of information and the security of the Authority's documents.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide general supervision of the registries.
Prepare and submit work plans for the registry.
Implement and adopt the use of electronic records management information systems (ERMS).
Comply with the Authority's filing scheme when carrying out filing of correspondences.
Ensure that all outgoing and incoming correspondences are recorded and filed appropriately.
Initiate file appraisal, retention, and destruction in compliance with the Records Management Policy of the Authority and governing government legislation.
Supervise, guide, and develop support staff within the registry.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Records Management, Business Administration, Information Science, or any other relevant field, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Terms of Service and Remuneration
Successful candidates will serve for a probationary period of six (6) months, thereafter converting to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service. Remuneration will be subject to the existing terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
