Quantitative Interviewer

The Quantitative Interviewer will facilitate the data collection process for research projects by conducting and recording interviews with study participants. The role involves strict adherence to research protocols, obtaining informed consent, and managing technical data collection equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in all training sessions and the full duration of the data collection process.
• Obtain and document informed consent from all study participants prior to conducting interviews.
• Conduct and record structured interviews with respondents using electronic digital recorders.
• Participate in daily team debrief meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
• Act as a custodian for all data collection equipment (provided by APHRC) during fieldwork.
• Strictly observe all safeguarding procedures throughout the engagement with participants.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must possess a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of C plain.
• Proven experience in using electronic data capture methods such as SurveyCTO.
• Proficiency in using digital devices like electronic recorders for data collection.
• High level of attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Must be a resident of Machakos county.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Swahili.
• Proficiency in the local language of Machakos is considered a significant advantage.
• Must be available for full-time work for the entire duration of the project.
