About the Role
The University of Nairobi is seeking a Quality Improvement Nurse to support a neonatal unit project. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving quality improvement (QI) initiatives, training staff, and ensuring the integrity of project data. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of care and documentation within the neonatal unit through structured project implementation and rigorous reporting.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Staff Training and Mentorship: Participate in quality improvement training sessions for neonatal unit staff and act as a champion for the implementation of the quality improvement project.
Project Administration: Maintain a comprehensive register of all project participants and establish/manage a robust filing system for both study participants and source verification documents.
Data Management: Collect accurate clinical data and collaborate with the data team to resolve any identified discrepancies.
Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to the Principal Investigator to track project progress and outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Must possess a Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc) or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field.
Certification: Must be a Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse with a valid registration from the relevant professional body.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of post-qualification clinical experience is required.
Added Advantage: Specific training or experience in research, quality improvement, and Information Technology (IT) will be highly regarded.
