Job Description
The successful candidate will support the delivery of laboratory-based practical instruction for pharmacy students by assisting in the preparation, setup, supervision, and maintenance of pharmaceutical sciences practicals. The role is hands-on and essential in ensuring a safe, effective, and high‑quality laboratory learning environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and setup of pharmaceutical sciences practical sessions, including Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Pharmaceutical Microbiology.
Prepare reagents, solutions, dosage forms, and laboratory materials as required.
Support students and lecturers during practical sessions.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals, reagents, and laboratory waste.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the laboratory environment.
Maintain laboratory equipment and report faults or shortages promptly.
Assist with inventory management of laboratory supplies and consumables.
Adhere to university policies, safety standards, and professional ethics.
Minimum Qualifications
Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya.
Demonstrable experience working in pharmaceutical laboratories, hospital pharmacies, or manufacturing settings.
Knowledge of good laboratory practices (GLP) and basic laboratory safety.
Ability to work effectively with students, academic staff, and laboratory personnel.
Personal Attributes

Ability to follow instructions accurately and work under supervision.
Team-oriented with a commitment to student learning and safety.
