Spinners & Spinners Limited (“S&S”) is a vertically integrated design and manufacturing facility of Textile Product Solutions that positively impact the lives of our consumers. Based in Kenya, and established in 1979, S&S is a heritage company with deep roots in entrepreneurship within the region. The Quality Assurance & Control Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving process improvements within the production cycle.
Core Responsibilities
Quality Management System Oversight
Oversee the Quality Management System (QMS).
Ensure compliance with KEBS, industry standards, and other regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular internal audits to verify adherence to QMS procedures.
Facilitate external audits by regulatory bodies or customers.
Process Improvement and Optimization
Identify areas for process improvement within the production cycle.
Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process optimizations.
Product Inspection and Testing
Implement inspection and testing protocols for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
Conduct regular product inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Investigate and address non-conformities, and implement corrective actions.
Key Deliverables
Quality Audit Reports: Timely submission of comprehensive quality audit reports with recommendations for process improvements and documentation of corrective actions.
Awareness Programs: Raising awareness of quality issues among production staff and monitoring processes for alignment with updated standards.
Quality Metrics Monitoring: Regular updates of quality metrics to the Head of Production, including trend analysis and action plans for performance issues.
Key Decision Making
Setting products manufacturing and quality testing standards.
Quality grading and decisions.
Implementing reduction and control measures for undergrade and waste.
Determining requirements and maintenance for quality assurance/control laboratory equipment.
Manpower planning, recruitment, motivation, discipline, and release.
Deciding the timing and methodology for internal and external QMS audits.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: BA/BSc/HND degree.
Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years' experience in quality assurance roles, preferably within textile manufacturing.
Quality Management Expertise: Proficiency in Six Sigma, TQM principles, and other quality methodologies.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating quality control teams for continuous improvement.
Data Analysis: Ability to interpret data to drive process improvement and ensure compliance.
