Public Health Consultant

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist with the review and analysis of client requirements or problems and the development of cost-effective proposals.
• Support Project Managers and Engagement Managers in developing detailed documentation and specifications.
• Perform basic quantitative or qualitative analyses to identify client issues and develop client-specific solutions.
• Assist in designing and structuring presentations tailored to the audience's needs.
• Proactively develop a basic knowledge of consulting methodologies and the healthcare market through consulting engagements and learning opportunities.
• Support business development by preparing responses to Expressions of Interest (EoIs) and proposals for government and donor community opportunities.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Economics, Public Policy, or International Development. An undergraduate degree (MBBS/BHMS is desirable).
• Experience: 6-8 years of relevant experience working for a governmental, intergovernmental, and/or non-governmental organization in the health sector.
• Skills:
  • Excellent report writing and PowerPoint development skills.
  • Knowledge of consulting methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent understanding of the health sector, public health structures, multi-laterals, and health programs in Africa.
  • Flair for business development through proposal and grant writing.
• Language Proficiency: Minimum C1 level in English. French or Portuguese at a minimum B2 level is a considerable advantage.
• Personal Attributes: Willingness to travel and adaptability to change.
• Desirable: Prior consulting or advisory experience in the public health sector.
