Role Overview
P.C.E.A Tumutumu Hospital is seeking motivated Management Trainees to join the Health Records & Information department. The hospital, established in 1909 and governed by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa, is a 203-bed facility providing holistic healthcare in the Central Highlands of Kenya. This trainee position is designed for graduates looking to build a career in health information management and hospital administration.
Responsibilities
While specific trainee duties will be assigned during the program, typical responsibilities for Health Records & Information Officers include:
Managing patient health records systems (both physical and electronic).
Ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and security of medical information.
Utilizing Health Information Systems (HIS) for daily operations and reporting.
Assisting in clinical coding and indexing of medical data.
Participating in the collection and analysis of hospital statistics to aid in decision-making.
Collaborating with other healthcare departments to streamline information flow.
Requirements and Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Health Records & Information Technology or a related field.
Proficiency in computer applications and experience with Health Information Systems (HIS).
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
A recommendation letter from a religious leader is mandatory (the leader should also be listed as a referee).
