Role Overview
The Public Health Consultant provides high-quality, timely development and on-time input to client solutions for the healthcare industries. The complexity of assignments ranges from basic analysis and problem-solving to assisting in the development of more complex solutions and leading small teams.
Responsibilities
Client Requirements & Proposals: Assist with the review and analysis of client requirements or problems and contribute to the development of proposals for cost-effective solutions.
Documentation: Assist Project and Engagement Managers in developing detailed project documentation and specifications.
Data Analysis: Perform basic quantitative or qualitative analyses to assist in identifying client issues and developing specific solutions.
Presentation Design: Support the design and structure of presentations tailored to the specific needs of the target audience.
Market Knowledge: Proactively develop knowledge of consulting methodologies and the healthcare market through participation in engagements and formal/informal learning opportunities.
Business Development: Support growth by preparing responses to Expressions of Interest (EoIs) and proposals for government and donor community opportunities.
Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Economics, Public Policy, or International Development. An undergraduate degree in MBBS/BHMS is highly desirable.
Experience: 6-8 years of relevant experience working for a governmental, intergovernmental, and/or non-governmental organization within the health sector.
Industry Knowledge: Excellent understanding of the health sector, public health structures, multi-laterals, and health programs in Africa.
Technical Skills: Strong report writing and PowerPoint development skills. Knowledge of consulting methods, tools, and techniques related to functional areas.
Language Proficiency: Minimum C1 level in English. Proficiency in French or Portuguese (minimum B2 level) is a considerable advantage.
Travel: Willingness to travel and adaptability to change.
