Job Description
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a development agency dedicated to supporting the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Under the direct supervision of the Chief, Women, Youth and Vulnerable Communities Section, the Project Coordinator and Technical Advisor will lead efforts to facilitate inclusive trade and market potential in key priority sectors.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and evaluate assigned projects; monitor and analyze project development and implementation; review relevant documents and reports; identify problems and issues to be addressed and initiate corrective actions.
Perform consulting assignments in collaboration with clients by planning and facilitating workshops and other interactive sessions.
Assist in developing action plans for change management.
Research, analyze, and present information related to inclusive trade and market potential in key priority sectors.
Coordinate policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends, and the preparation of evaluations or other research activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme coordination, administration, or related areas.
Proven experience working with community groups.
Experience in facilitating training and/or providing mentoring and coaching.
Competencies
Professionalism: Knowledge of inclusive trade and value chain development to facilitate participation of women, youth, and underrepresented groups (e.g., in artisanal products and creative industries).
Local Context: Deep understanding of trade issues in Kenya, including the business support ecosystem.
Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct data collection and independent research using various electronic sources and databases.
Judgment: Ability to apply judgment, plan work, and manage conflicting priorities while meeting deadlines.
Resilience: Demonstrates persistence when faced with difficult problems and remains calm in stressful situations.
