Professor Sports and Recreation

The University of Embu is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual for the position of Professor in Sports and Recreation. This is a senior academic role requiring extensive experience in university teaching, research leadership, and postgraduate supervision. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to the university's academic excellence through continued research, student mentorship, and active leadership in university activities. ### Responsibilities - Deliver lectures and manage course curricula at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. - Lead high-impact research projects and publish findings in refereed journals. - Supervise PhD and Masters candidates through to successful graduation. - Secure external research funding and grants for university projects. - Participate in university administrative duties and provide academic leadership. - Represent the university in international academic conferences and workshops. ### Requirements - Have at least twelve (12) years of university teaching experience, three (3) of which as full time Associate Professor. - Have at least sixty (60) publication points, forty (40) of which are from articles in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Associate Professor. - Have successfully supervised to completion at least six (6) Masters and two (2) PhD students since being appointed Associate Professor. - Show evidence of successfully securing at least two (2) research grants since being appointed Associate Professor. - Show evidence of attendance and contribution of learned conferences, seminars or workshops. - Show evidence of active participation/leadership in university activities. - Show evidence of continued research. - PhD/Fellowship in a relevant field. ### How to Apply Applicants should notify three (3) referees to send their recommendation letters directly to the Vice-Chancellor in a sealed envelope or via email to vc@embuni.ac.ke before the deadline.
