The University of Embu (UoEm) is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Professor of French. Established as a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi in 2011, UoEm has a rich history in academic excellence and research. As a Professor, you will be expected to provide academic leadership, engage in high-level research, and mentor both students and junior staff members.
Responsibilities
Conduct advanced teaching and lecturing in French.
Supervise postgraduate students (Masters and PhD) to completion.
Conduct ongoing research and contribute to scholarly publications in refereed journals.
Secure research grants to support academic and institutional projects.
Participate in and lead university activities and committees.
Represent the university in learned conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Requirements
A PhD/Fellowship qualification in French.
At least twelve (12) years of university teaching experience, three (3) of which must be as a full-time Associate Professor.
At least sixty (60) publication points, forty (40) of which are from articles in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Associate Professor.
Successful supervision to completion of at least six (6) Masters and two (2) PhD students since being appointed Associate Professor.
Evidence of successfully securing at least two (2) research grants since being appointed Associate Professor.
Evidence of attendance and contribution to learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
Evidence of active participation/leadership in university activities.
Evidence of continued research.
