The University of Embu (UoEm) was established as a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi in 2011. It is the successor of the former Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College, which started in 1947. The University continues to play a critical role in providing high-quality education, research, and consultancy services.
Role Overview
The University of Embu is seeking a highly qualified academic to fill the position of Professor of Econometrics. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership, deliver high-quality teaching, guide research initiatives, and mentor postgraduate students.
Key Requirements and Qualifications
Applicants must hold an earned PhD degree in Econometrics or a relevant area of specialty. In addition, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Have at least twelve (12) years of university teaching experience, three (3) of which as a full-time Associate Professor.
Have at least sixty (60) publication points, forty (40) of which are from articles in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Associate Professor.
Have successfully supervised to completion at least six (6) Masters and two (2) PhD students since being appointed Associate Professor.
Show evidence of successfully securing at least two (2) research grants since being appointed Associate Professor.
Show evidence of attendance and contribution to learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
Show evidence of active participation/leadership in university activities.
Show evidence of continued research.
Successful candidates for Grade 12 and above will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
