The University of Embu (UoEm) is seeking a highly qualified Professor of Cyber Security. This is a senior academic position requiring an individual with extensive experience in university teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision. The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership, secure research funding, and contribute significantly to the university's research output and student development.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality instruction and teaching in the field of Cyber Security at the university level.
Conduct continued research and publish findings in refereed scholarly journals.
Supervise and mentor postgraduate students, specifically at the Masters and PhD levels, through to completion.
Secure research grants and manage academic projects effectively.
Provide leadership and participate in various university activities and administrative duties.
Contribute to the academic community through attendance and contribution to learned conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Requirements
Have at least twelve (12) years of university teaching experience, three (3) of which must be as a full-time Associate Professor.
Have at least sixty (60) publication points, forty (40) of which are from articles in refereed scholarly journals since being appointed Associate Professor.
Have successfully supervised to completion at least six (6) Masters and two (2) PhD students since being appointed Associate Professor.
Show evidence of successfully securing at least two (2) research grants since being appointed Associate Professor.
Show evidence of attendance and contribution to learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
Show evidence of active participation/leadership in university activities.
Show evidence of continued research.
